3 Reasons Why You Should Get Anniversary Photos Taken

Have you ever thought, Why should I get Anniversary Photos taken? Well no need to worry! I got your back. Scroll down to see the top 3 reasons why you should do it.

1. Your Legacy. Have you ever thought about what kind of legacy you’ll be leaving for your kids? For their kids? For the generations that come after you? Our legacy is what the people we love most and who love us most will remember us by when we’re gone – and legacy is what makes anniversary photos so important.

2. It’s an Investment. Initially it seems like a frivolous investment – which is why we kept putting it off. But that notion could not be further from the truth! It turns out, it is an incredible investment – not only into your home decor, beautiful photos, but also into your marriage! It is so awesome to look at the updated photos and see how you’ve changed, not only looks, but in your interactions with one another.

3. It’s Fun! It ends up being a BLAST of a date night. You get all dressed up and run around snuggling the love of your life. It’s worth it to plan dinner or something else fun afterwards.

So, why are anniversary photos so important? Because they are your physical legacy. They show how you’ve grown as a couple – and that’s something so precious worth remembering.

How to Find the Right Professionals for Your Wedding

Having a hard time finding the right Videographer and Photographer for your big day? Don’t sweat it. Just follow these steps and you’re Visual Media will be authentic and most of all, on point! 😉

Before you look for artists, decide on your style. Which one of these jumps out at you?

  • Documentary: Instead of posed photos and video, these are more candid and spontaneous. With this style you’ll very rarely see people staring at the camera- the photos capture the moments exactly as they happen, and together they tell a story.
  • Portraiture: If you prefer classic portraits then this is the style for you. That’s not to say there’s no room for creativity in this category. An good example of this would be a couple sitting on a lounge chair at their extravagant reception venue. Usually these photos are very dramatic (think magazine cover).

Now you can start your search by looking at reviews. Review potential vid/photographer’s websites and blogs to check out content from other events they’ve shot. This will give you an idea of their style. Also, check out their social media profiles. Is the feedback from clients positive? How does the artist respond to comments?

And last, but absolutely not least, make sure you budget for these special artists. Brilliant photos and video cost a lot, but they last a lifetime, so it’s definitely an investment worth making. Memories are priceless and high quality makes all the difference.

How to Pick The Perfect Wedding Venue

Picking a wedding venue is a pretty big deal. It sets the tone of the whole wedding and there are so many options to choose from. But don’t worry, just follow these simple steps and you will be sure to find the perfect place for your special event.

Before you make any decisions, you need to make a draft budget. Don’t sign a contract with a venue only to realize down the road that you have no money left for that photo booth bus you’ve been coveting since you were a little girl.

Be Creative!

Know and understand what kind of wedding you want and look for an uncommon place to have it. I captured a wedding that took place at an Airbnb home (with consent of the host, of course). It was a whole weekend extravaganza and it was so unique and fun!

Some other ideas might be art galleries, warehouses, an aquarium, a sports stadium, or even a treehouse! The sky’s the limit, so have fun.

Answer These Simple Questions to Pick Your Venue

  1. Does this venue’s capacity fit my estimated guest list? For real. One way to figure this out is to ask at the site “what number of guest is most successful in this space?” Just because you can fit 200 people, doesn’t mean you should.
  2. Does this venue’s layout fit my needs? If you’re doing the ceremony, luncheon, and reception all in one venue, does it have separate spaces? Or are you going to have to do a “flip”? How will that work?
  3. Does this venue have catering restrictions? Sometimes a venue makes you use one exclusive caterer (which is usually pricey and can push your budget)

Remember to Stay True to Yourselves

With all of the Pinterest Weddings nowadays, a lot of couples choose venues based off of the style they fell in love with online. But it’s so important to know how you feel and what is authentic to you as a couple. Then you can choose a space (and design) that represents and highlights you.

How to Prepare for a Love Story Video

Preparing for a Love Story Video and Engagement Photos can be a little nerve racking. But we’ve got you covered with 3 simple tips to keep you in control. Your results will turn out amazing with no stress!

1. Think outside the box

Pick something that you, as a couple, enjoy doing and incorporate that into the video. Doing an activity that makes you comfortable will show in the video and it will turn out more natural and timeless. Plus it will create a great story backdrop that will keep your audience engaged 😉😂 Some examples would be walking downtown, going on a hiking, visiting your favorite library, or even Netflix and cuddles!

2. Think comfort

You have to dress up to the whole nines for your actual wedding day. So unless you absolutely love dressing up, then let this moment be just about the you two. Now I’m not saying to wear dirty old clothing, but pick something that you look and feel great in. Honestly, the best sessions I’ve done is when the couple wore clothes that they didn’t mind getting dirty. Then, if the chance arises, beat the heat and jump in that lake!

3. Don’t be afraid to say no

I once gave a suggestion for a groom to give a piggyback ride to the bride. The couple came to the conclusion that it was a little too cutesy for them. And it was totally fine! If you aren’t 100% with an idea then let me know. My job, and passion, is to create something that you will want to watch often. I expect feedback from you just as much as you expect it from me. In the end it’s all about you. So do what you want to do.
